BURTON MAN SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS

  

A Burton man will spend the next two years behind bars after pleading guilty to Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear.

52-year old Don Wayne Basey was arrested after a warrant was issued for his arrest on August 4^th, for Failure to Appear on a charge of Obstruction/Retalliation—a Class 3 felony.

He was arrested August 11^th by the Brenham Police Department’s Fusion Unit.

Basey was sentenced by District Judge Reva Towslee Corbett.

Also in District Courty, Tuesday:

40-year old Curtis Lee Fisher of Bellville was sentenced to just over two years in prison on a family violence charge.  Fisher pleaded guilty to Assault Family Violence Impeding Breathing.  He was sentenced to 814 days behind bars.

41-year old Robert Umberson of New Braunfels was sentenced to two years in prison and fined $1000 for Evading Arrest.  Umberson was arrested on August 6^th of this year.  He is also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service and undergo drug and alcohol treatment.

26-year old Staci Chillson of San Antonio was sentenced to 300 days in jail on charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, after her arrest on February 14^th.

And, 37-year old Amy Daniels of Burton was placed on six years probation on a charge of Organized Retail Theft $1500-20,000.  Daniels was also ordered to perform 240 hours of community service and undergo drug and alcohol treatment.
