CITY OF SOMERVILLE TO TAKE PART IN HOUSING RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM

The City of Somerville is taking part in a housing reconstruction and rehabilitation assistance program, and Mayor James Hare and the Somerville City Council have announced there will be funds to assist low income homeowners with repairs to their homes, or to replace the current home with a new house when repairs are not economically feasible.

There will be no repayment required as long as the homeowner continues ownership of the home, and live in the home for up to fifteen years

Homeowners interested in more information and who wish to fill out an application on February 4th, should go to the Historical Society Building, 17435 SH 36 in Somerville, or may go by and pick up a flyer at the Somerville City Hall, or contact Caley Carmichael at GrantWorks by calling 512-420-0303 ext 306.

  1. Sure wish Washington County would do something like this. Of course I probably wouldn’t qualify because I work two jobs and pay all my bills! But I know that my house is falling apart and in need of repairs and there is no extra money to fix the house. I’m lucky that I can put food on the table sometimes.
