COLLEGE STATION MAN KILLED WHILE CROSSING INTERSECTION

  

A College Station man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy intersection, last (Monday) night.

65-year old Willie Sumrall Jr. died at a local hospital after he was struck at the intersection of Texas Avenue and University Drive.

Police were called out just before 9:30 Monday night.  Sumrall was walking eastbound across Texas Avenue when he was hit by a Toyota SUV heading south.

Paramedics performed CPR on Sumrall, who was taken to a local hospital for incapacitating injuries.  He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the Toyota SUV is cooperating with the investigation and there are no criminal charges pending.
