CUBS TO HOST #17 STRATFORD TONIGHT

It’s out of the frying pan and into the fire for the Brenham Cubs tonight at Cubs Stadium.

Last week the Cubs (2-3/1-1) faced offensive powerhouse Magnolia West and held the Mustangs to a season low in points and yardage, but fell, 21-7.

This week, the Cubs’ opponent is defending District Champ and 17th ranked Stratford (4-1/2-0).

Cubs coach Glen West says Stratford is an outstanding all-around football team…

Stratford returns All-State running back Rakeem Boyd, who’s committed to Texan A&M, as well as eight other starters on offense.

West says the Spartans don’t do anything fancy.  They just line up and come right at you…

Despite the loss, the Cubs played the best defensive game of the season last week.  West says they need to keep improving, make the right decisions, and continue to play hard…

Kickoff at Cubs Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.  The game can be heard on KWHI and www.kwhi.com beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30.
