LOCAL POLICE WARN PUBLIC TO GUARD AGAINST AUTO BURGLARIES

  

The Brenham Police Department are urging residents to remember to lock their vehicles and take their belongings with them.

Police say there have been multiple vehicle burglaries in the overnight hours and many of them are because of unlocked vehicles.

Authorities remind the public, it is a known motive for the burglars to walk around jiggling door handles and test for unlocked vehicles. Once inside the vehicle they usually steal change and other valuables.

If the vehicle’s owner left a key or key fob inside, there is a potential threat for them to steal the vehicle as well.

They are urging the city to please stay vigilant and to report any suspicious behavior.
