A Milam County woman has been arrested, after apparently lying about the condition of her 7-month old child to solicit online donations.

28-year old Katelyn Christina Carnline of Milano is accused of starting an online web page to raise funds for her alleged critically ill child. The website she created said the baby suffered from a rare genetic disorder.

According to KBTX-TV, a probable cause affidavit reveals Carnline received donations via youcaring.com that featured the infant's medical history.

According to investigators, Carnline lied to medical personnel about the child's medical condition and withheld proper nutrition from the baby.

According to Milam County District Attorney Bill Torrey, this led to a decline in the child's health, as well as subjecting the child to "unnecessary medical procedures in an attempt to raise money."

Torrey’s office says the child has been placed with other family members by CPS, and is healthy and thriving.

Prior to the Milam County Sheriff’s Department investigation, an extensive investigation by CPS and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department led to Brazos County charges for an online web page involving an older child of Carnline, in which she made false statements regarding the child having cancer.
