Brenham High School is losing a long-time mainstay of its football coaching staff and athletic department.

Long-time Assistant Athletic Director and Offensive Coordinator for the Cubs’ football team, Tim Oehrlein is leaving at the end of the school year.

According to Athletic Director Glen West, Oehrlein and his family are moving to the Austin area to be closer to Leah Oehrlein’s family business in San Saba.

Coach Oehrlein will become an assistant coach on the staff at Austin Westlake High School.

Oehrlein has been the offensive coordinator for the Cubs since he and Coach West arrived in 1998.

Oehrlein has guided a Cubs offense that has won 177 games in 19 seasons and broken nearly every school record.

He and his wife Leah have two sons, Jacob a graduating senior at Brenham High School and John, a sophomore.
