PAIR OF CUBETTES NAMED ALL-STATE SOFTBALL

Two Brenham Cubettes softball players have been named All-State by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Outfielder Kelly Jurden and second baseman Annie Cangelosi were named to the 5A All State team.

Jurden hit .425 this season, with 37 runs scored and 10 runs batted in.

Cangelosi hit .414, with 31 runs scored, 34 rbi’s, 10 doubles and six home runs.

The two Cubettes are joined on the All-State team by three district foes: Ariana Adams, p, Magnolia West; Casey Dixon, p, Willis; and McKenzie Parker, SS, Willis.

Two Burton Lady Panthers were named Academic All State: Belen Miranda and Blaire Smith.

Former Cubette head coach Wade Womack, who led Dripping Springs to the State Tournament, was named 5A/6A Coach of the Year.
