PRESIDENT OBAMA TO HONOR FORT HOOD VICTIMS
President Obama is spending much of this week in Texas.
He is coming to Austin Tuesday for a panel discussion with former Presidents Carter, Clinton and George W. Bush at the LBJ Library about the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
On Wednesday the President will be at Fort Hood to attend a memorial service for the dead and wounded in last week’s shooting at the base.
The shooting, the second in less than five years at the nation’s largest military installation, continues. Army Specialist Ivan Lopez opened fire on several soldiers, apparently after an argument last week. Three were killed before Lopez turned his firearm on himself.
