REGISTRATION OPENS FOR BLINN’S WINTER MINIMESTER AND SPRING SEMESTER

  

Blinn College has opened public registration for its upcoming Winter Minimester and Spring 2017 semester.

Students seeking credit hours during the holidays can register for Blinn’s Winter Minimester, which runs Dec. 16-22 and Jan. 3-11. Registration remains open through Dec. 15.Blinn College Old Main feature new

Registration for 16-week and first eight-week Spring courses remains open through Jan. 16, with classes set to begin on Jan. 17. College officials encourage early registration for placement in high-demand courses and convenient scheduling.

Students who travel during the holidays can enjoy Blinn’s convenient online course selection during the minimester. Online offerings include Art Appreciation, Art History II, Mass Communication, Introduction to Theater, Composition I, World Geography, American Government, Texas Government, Medical Terminology I, U.S. History I and II, Texas History, Introduction to Physical Fitness and Wellness, Music Appreciation, General Psychology, Lifespan Growth & Development, Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Speech Communication, and Public Speaking.

On the Bryan Campus, minimester students can enroll in traditional face-to-face courses in Art Appreciation, American Government, Texas Government, U.S. History I, Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences I, Calculus for Business and Social Sciences, Introduction to Logic, General Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and Public Speaking.

Blinn’s academic transfer rate of 39.5 percent ranks second in the state and far exceeds the statewide average of 22.0 percent. According to figures compiled by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s CollegeForAllTexans.com, out-of-district Blinn students save 44.3 percent compared to state residents at the average Texas public university and 82.5 percent compared to the average Texas private university.

In addition to Blinn’s low tuition and fees, the Blinn Foundation offers more than 200 endowed scholarships available to incoming and returning students from a wide range of backgrounds, majors and experiences. Blinn students and prospective students also can register for external scholarships and participate in grant programs.
