ROUND TOP TO SHOW FILM ON TEXAS DANCEHALLS

Texas has a culture and history that makes it unique to any other place on earth.

One of the most iconic emblems of that culture, the historic dance halls built all over the state during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Some say those beloved old halls are in danger of disappearing forever, taking with them a huge part of our distinctive culture.

Eric McGowan, an enterprising young Texas film director, has produced an award-winning short film called Dance Hall Days.

The film, which won Best Texas Film at the 2018 Hill Country Film Festival, is being shown at select halls and venues across the state.  On Sunday, June 3rd, at 3pm, Round Top Rifle Hall will present Dance Hall Days.  All proceeds will go towards helping to offset production and distribution costs.

McGowan began this Texas dance hall documentary project in order to bring attention to the importance and the beauty of these historic buildings—as well as to the plight endangering their very existence.
