SEALY MAN INDICTED FOR RAPE OF AN ELDERLY WOMAN

The Austin County grand jury has indicted a Sealy man suspected of raping an elderly woman back in April.

Jermain R. Black was arrested back in May at his residence in the Villas Apartment complex on a three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of san Elderly Person.

Police suspect Black of sexually assaulting an elderly woman on April 23 in Sealy’s Brookside neighborhood. Interim Police Chief Bruce Mills said the investigation and arrest were the result of a coordinated multi-agency effort between Sealy Police, the Department of Public Safety, Galveston P.D., Texas Rangers and the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office.

Black has also been indicted on a charge of Burglary of a Habitation.

Also indicted in the latest session of the Austin Co. Grand Jury:

62-year old James Poffenberger Jr. of Bellville on a charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14.  Poffenberger was arrested last December.
