SHERIFF DALE STROUD TO STEP DOWN EARLY
Burleson County Sheriff Dale Stroud has announced he will be stepping down on November 30th.
Stroud told county commissioners in a letter, that by stepping down a month early it would ensure a more seamless transition to Sheriff-elect Thomas Norsworthy.
Stroud has served three terms since taking office in January of 2005. He did not seek re-election this year.
Norsworthy is a former lieutenant in the Sheriff’s Department and former Chief of Police in Caldwell. He defeated Richard Terral in the Republican Primary in March.
The county commissioners would have to appoint Norsworthy to the position for him to take office a month before he’s officially sworn in January first.
