SIX SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT
An Elgin man has been sentenced to eight years behind bars after pleading guilty to Evading Arrest in 21st District Court this week.
33-year old Royace Young pleaded guilty to an incident that happened on July 5th of 2013.
Young pleaded guilty to Evading Arrest Using a Vehicle/Deadly Weapon. He was sentenced to eight years in prison by District Judge Carson Campbell.
Also sentenced in court this week:
22-year Jeffery Wade of Hempstead, sentenced to four years in prison and fined $750 for Injury to a Disabled Individual. Wade was on probation for the March 2013 incident.
28-year old Clarence Williams III of Austin, sentenced to three years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation.
26-year old Jared Peterson of Brenham, placed on four years’ probation and fined nearly $1400 for Assault Family Violence. Peterson was also ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and spend 60 days in the Washington County Jail.
20-year old Monisha Shana Stace of Brenham, placed on six years’ probation for Organized Retail Theft. Stace was also ordered to pay over $3,000 restitution and perform 240 hours of community service.
And, 31-year old Raven Meredith of Brenham was placed on five years’ probation on each of two charges of Forgery. Meredith was also ordered to pay nearly $2,000 in total restitution and perform 200 hours of community service.
