SUSPECT IN AGGIE STUDENT’S MURDER PLEADS GUILTY
The suspect in the 2016 shooting death of a 21-year-old Texas A&M student has pleaded guilty.
23-year old Victor Manuel Garcia-Loyo, a native of Mexico, entered his plea Monday in 272nd District Court.
Garcia-Loyo was arrested in September of last year, after the shooting death of his girlfriend, 21-year old Maricarmen Quiroz-Octaviano, inside a College Station apartment.
The shooting happened during an argument the couple was engaged in. After the shooting, Garcia-Loyo fled to Fort Worth where authorities tracked him using his own cell phone.
Quiroz-Octaviano was an Austin native and senior at A&M studying genetics.
Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday.
