TAX-FREE HOLIDAY THIS WEEKEND
The annual Texas Sales Tax Holiday is this weekend across the state.
The three-day holiday, scheduled for Friday-thru-Sunday, exempts many school-related items from state and local sales taxes.
The law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced below $100 from sales taxes—saving around $8 per every $100 spent.
State Comptroller Glen Hegar says shoppers across the state will save nearly $90-million in state and local sales taxes.
Lists of apparel and school supplies that may be purchased tax-free can be seen on the comptroller’s website at: TexasTaxHoliday.org.
