“TREASURE ISLAND” AT CHAPPELL HILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S MUSEUM

  

Gibbous Moon Productions, a recently established non-profit theatre production company, will be performing “Treasure Island” by Ken Ludwig, adapted from the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson at the Chappell Hill Historical Society’s Museum this Thursday, November 30 at 7:30PM, Friday, December 1 at 7:30PM and Saturday, December 2 at 2:30PM.  “Our cast and crew has been tirelessly preparing for this upcoming theatre production of Treasure Island and we are appreciative of the opportunity to once again use the stage and facilities of the Chappell Hill Historical Society.  We have put together a great cast for this production and looking forward to showcasing some of the areas young theater talent,” stated Andrew Mueller, Executive Producer/Director for Gibbous Moon Productions.

“The Chappell Hill Historical Society is looking forward to hosting this theatre production in our Museum.  Thanks to our donors and events like the annual Bluebonnet & Scarecrow Festivals we have been able to renovate the Museum building to host cultural events like “Treasure Island” and we hope the community will come to Chappell Hill for these performances,” stated Joel Romo, President of the Chappell Hill Historical Society.

Gibbous Moon Productions was founded in 2016 and currently two of their founding members are pursuing their theatre careers at Oklahoma City University and New York University.  “Our set, props and costumes were handmade and the cast has been preparing for the last few weeks to deliver a stellar production for our guest.  The cast and crew of Gibbous Moon Productions are involved in numerous productions throughout the community and we are excited that we can continue pursuing our love for theatre in this community. We have a few one-act plays and additional theatre productions in the planning stages for 2018 and welcome anyone with an interest in theatre to join us,” concluded Mueller.

Tickets are $12.00 and on sale at the Museum office (979-836-6033) or at the Washington County Visitors Bureau office in Brenham, at 115 Main Street.  Tickets will also be available at the door.
