Grimes Co. authorities have arrested two men suspected of burglary, after a lengthy chase.

A Sheriff’s deputy noticed a truck and an ATV and trailer in an undeveloped area near Iola, and said he thought the truck looked like one from some burglaries that had been reported in the area.

The truck took off without the trailer, but after a chase that ended back near where it started, it got stuck in the mud. Deputies say the two ran on foot.

The Grimes County sheriff's office says they arrested Cory Middleton of College Station and Justin Doty of Bryan.

Doty was captured outside a nearby residence.  Middleton was eventually captured after he was able to get back to the ATV, and fled to the Navasota River bottom near County Road 162 before he was eventually captured.

Grimes County authorities say the ATV and the trailer were reportedly stolen out of Brazos County.

Authorities say both have lengthy criminal records.

Middleton was arrested as part of a multi-county theft ring in 2013. He also led Madison County authorities on a chase early that year.

Also involved in the chase and arrest of the two were:  the TDCJ canine and horse teams, Texas Highway Patrol, Parks and Wildlife game wardens, the Brazos County Sheriff's Office, Grimes County Constable's Office for Precinct One, and several Grimes Co. citizens.
