HONDURAS MAN ARRESTED IN FAYETTE COUNTY AFTER PURSUIT

  

A 20 year old Honduras man has been arrested in Fayette County for evading arrest.

IMG_2393 Dennis Jose Garcia was arrested for evading arrest with a motor vehicle and unlawfully carrying a weapon, Monday afternoon.

Monday afternoon at 4:00pm, Deputy David Smith attempted to stop a stolen vehicle traveling west on I-10. The car failed to stop beginning a pursuit. Deputy Smith gave chase and the vehicle exited the Interstate at the 661 Mile Marker and then traveled north on FM 609.

The vehicle continued north as other law enforcement began to help Deputy Smith stop the car. The vehicle exited the roadway North of Farek/Loth road on FM 609 and attempted to run through heavy brush along a fence line, stopping the car and Garcia began running off into the brush. The Officers began the foot chase and soon Garcia was apprehended.

Garcia was found to be in possession of a 25 automatic pistol. Justice of the Peace, Scott Parker, set bond at $1,500 on each charge.
