HOT FUNDS WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN BRENHAM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
Several Washington County organizations requesting funding will be attending a meeting in Brenham this (Wednesday) afternoon.
A Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funding meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the Washington County Annex Building.
These funds have been a hotly debated topic county-wide, after the City of Brenham announced in July it would take tourism responsibilities in-house.
Recently, county commissioners met with Brenham Chief Financial Officer Carolyn Miller to discuss the funds, as well as an inter-local agreement between the city and the county.
The workshop could potentially detail a new agreement, as well as how HOT funds will be used in the future. This includes how the new organizational structure will look, whether that be a Tourism Board, a HOT Board, or both.
People are invited to come and hear first-hand from the requesting organizations, regarding HOT funds and their allocation.
