BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER DONATION TO BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
The Burton City Council will consider a donation for potential city park improvements at tonight’s (Monday) meeting.
The council will discuss a possible donation to the city’s Beautification and Ordinance Compliance Committee. The council has not decided on an amount, or if it will pursue making the donation.
The council will also look at an inter-local agreement recently approved by the Washington County Commissioners, for an exchange of services at the county’s new paramedic station in Burton. Commissioners stated at today’s meeting that the city would provide utilities for the building.
Councilmembers will also consider replacing its current leased Xerox copier through Dahill, with a new leased copier and contract. Burton City Secretary Angela Weyand says the contract being proposed would cost the city $174 a month for the new copier.
The council will also consider approving an oil, gas and mineral lease with GeoSouthern Energy Partners. It will also discuss collection of information on the drilling of a backup water well, to replace the collapsed well at East Mulberry Street and North Brazos Street. J&S Water Wells of Bellville is expected to attend the meeting to answer questions.
The council will also look at an ordinance regarding the installation, use and location of mobile homes within the city. In addition, the council will consider an ordinance amendment and renewal, concerning curfew for certain juveniles.
The council will meet this afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., at Burton City Hall.
