BRENHAM EDF BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION WRAPS UP FRIDAY

The election process for the Brenham Economic Development Foundation (EDF) board of directors concludes today (Friday).

Ballots went out earlier this month to EDF members, for the election of five directors to serve a three-year-term from December 2019 through 2022. The election wraps up today, and the results will be announced soon afterwards.

Three current directors are eligible to serve another term. Those are Blake Brannon of Brannon Industrial Group, Chad Gerke of The Gerke Law Firm, and Catherine Kenjura of Lacina and Kenjura, PC.  Three additional nominees appear on the ballot: Trey Hardy of Germania Insurance Companies, Randy Hodde of Hodde Real Estate, and Nathan Winkelmann of Buccaneer Food Store and Nathan’s BBQ.

After December 1st, with the five newly elected directors on the board, the remainder of the board will be Matt Bentke of Bluebonnet Electric, Chris Cangelosi of Citizens State Bank, Tee Dippel of Brenham National Bank, Mike Hopkins, Jr. of Mike Hopkins Distributing, Darren Huckert of Garza EMC, Jim Kolkhorst of Kolkhorst Foods, Jimmy Lawhorn of Blue Bell Creameries, Barney Loesch of Thrivent Financial, Melissa McCune of Baylor Scott and White, Jarvis Van Dyke of Van Dyke Rankin and Co., and Billy Holle (past chairman of the board) of Seidel Schroeder and Co.

Gary Weiss of Germania Insurance and Arlen Thielemann of Thielemann Construction will be retiring from the EDF, after each having served nine years on the board of directors.

The EDF was created in 1953 to promote the development of industry in the city, and the creation of jobs in the community. For more information, visit www.brenhamedf.com.
