FRANKLIN TEEN CHARGED IN CHRISTMAS HIT-AND-RUN

An 18-year old woman from Franklin has been arrested after a Christmas Day hit-and-run in Robertson County.

According to DPS, a 6-year old was critically injured after suddenly pulling onto FM 46 and being struck by a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck, 18-year old Katlyne Martinez of Franklin, fled the scene, but stopped about five miles away when her vehicle broke down.

The child was airlifted to a Houston hospital and remains in critical condition.

DPS troopers arrested Martinez and charged her with Failure to Stop and Render Aid Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a third-degree felony.

  1. The girl was wrong, wrong, wrong for not stopping. I also hope the parents are charged with something like child endangerment or something related to traffic laws for allowing their SIX YEAR OLD child onto a real road with his/her four wheeler. They were wrong also.
