GUNS AND HOSES BLOOD DRIVE FRIDAY AT BRENHAM FIREMAN’S TRAINING CENTER

  

An emergency Guns and Hoses Blood Drive will be held Friday in Brenham.

The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the donor coach, stationed at the Fireman’s Training Center.

During this COVID-19 outbreak, many blood drives have been cancelled due to concerns about the virus, thus leading to a blood shortage.  Officials with Friday’s blood drive say proper social distancing guidelines will be followed.

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center says COVID-19 does not pose any risk to blood donors, either during the donation process or while attending organized blood drives.  According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there have been no reported or suspected cases of transfusion-transmitted COVID-19.

Donors are asked to bring their ID, and to not come in to donate if they are feeling ill.
