Washington County is now reporting 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 19 of them active cases.

The 21st case, as reported by Washington County EMS, is a male in his 30s.  He is currently at home under self-quarantine.  The man was one of two cases confirmed Monday, the other being a woman in her 20s who is also recovering at home.

Currently, three cases are hospitalized, two of those being cases confirmed on Sunday.  One patient has recovered from the virus.

Update @ 11:50 a.m.: Unnamed sources have told KWHI that two recently confirmed cases are residents of a Brenham nursing home.  KWHI reached out to the county’s Joint Information Center for information, but was told they would be unable to provide us with that information due to privacy restrictions.

Friday, the county confirmed its first COVID-19 related death in a Washington County resident, who was reported by officials as a man in his 80s with multiple underlying health conditions.

EMS believes all cases at this point have been transmitted through community spread.
