“HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES” OPENS SATURDAY WITH TRIBUTE TO TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS

A rocking good time awaits visitors to downtown Brenham tonight (Saturday), as the first of four “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concerts takes the stage.
After being postponed from the summer due to COVID-19, the popular concert series gets underway tonight with a performance from The Damn Torpedoes, a tribute band dedicated to recreating the look and sound of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says changes have made to this year’s concert series in order to better keep attendees safe.
In addition to the extra spacing and signage, hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the concert area. Families are invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy refreshments from food and drink vendors.
After tonight’s concert, the series will continue next weekend on October 16th and 17th in conjunction with the Texas Arts and Music Festival, before rounding out on the 24th. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m.
Tonight’s performance is sponsored by Ant Street Inn, Associated Credit Union of Texas, Strand Associates, and Independence Coffee Company.
