The votes are in, and the winners of Main Street Brenham’s 2021 Spring Eggs Art Walk have been announced.
Nine of the 35 decorated eggs scattered across downtown Brenham are winners of part of $1,200 in total cash prizes. Awards were presented based on several categories for adults and students, and winners were decided based on voting by judges and the public.
This year’s Best of Show winner, receiving a $200 prize sponsored by Kieke Egg Farm, was “Let’s Think Spring!” by Brenham High School Child Development.
Winner of Best Easter Theme in the adult category was “Dance Egg-Cellence” by Center Stage Dance, winning $125 sponsored by Pioneer Smokehouse and Mercantile. The Best Easter Theme for student eggs was “Easter Blessings” by The Riske Boys, the winners of $125 sponsored by Must Be Heaven.
Named Most Creative for adults was “Texas Wildflowers” by Bobbi Jo Supak, who wins the $125 prize sponsored by Brown Water Cigar Bar. The students’ Most Creative winner, receiving a $125 prize sponsored by Brenham City Councilmember Susan Cantey, was “Petunia Pig” by Kennedy and McKinley Jasinski.
The adult egg with the most votes was “Carrina’s Creation” by Easy Access Technologies, the winner of $125 sponsored by Hermann Furniture. The egg with the most votes in the student category was “Surprise Egg!” by Bailey Conway, who wins $125 sponsored by The Canyon Chick.
The Judge’s Choice for adults was “The Ducky Creation” by Briana Ward and The Duck Squad, receiving $125 sponsored by Funky Art Café/The Pomegranate. The Judge’s Choice for students, and the winner of $125 sponsored by Las Americas Latin Cuisine, went to “Easter Time Again” by Katniss Marks.
Proceeds from an auction for the eggs will be split 50/50 between the egg artist and Main Street Brenham. Auction proceed money will be presented in addition to any prize money an entry has won.
