CAMP FOR ALL VIRTUAL GALA RAISES NEARLY $220,000

The annual fundraising gala for Camp For All took on a new look this year, but the event still received plenty of support from the community.

According to a release, the gala, held virtually on January 21st, raised nearly $220,000.  Funds raised at the event help campers to attend Camp For All with little or no cost, and will also be used to help recover from more than $2 million in losses due to COVID-19.

The fundraiser was streamed online through Camp For All’s YouTube channel and consisted of pre-taped segments and a live portion, featuring Camp For All President and CEO Pat Sorrells, Camp Friends Board President Kyle Merten and auctioneer Rusty Mertink.  Washington County residents and camp supporters Robyn, Phil and McKenzie Lasagna were featured as guest speakers, and there were also silent and live auctions.

Sorrells said while this year’s gala may have been unconventional, both new and long-time supporters “came together to raise critical funds to keep our gates open to all of our campers.”

Camp For All is a barrier-free camp that works in partnership with more than 65 other not-for-profit organizations to help children and adults with challenging illnesses or special needs and their families.  The camp welcomes approximately 10,000 campers in a typical year.
