BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE LIMITING VISITATION
Baylor Scott & White is restricting visitation at its facilities after an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospital admissions.

On Tuesday, the healthcare group announced that patients receiving care for conditions other than COVID-19 will be allowed one visitor at a time over the age of 16.
Patients who are being treated in neonatal intensive care units or pediatric units for conditions other than COVID-19 will be allowed up to two guests at a time.
Baylor Scott & White said it continues to restrict visitors for patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19, except in certain circumstances.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the percentage of hospital capacity made up of COVID-19 patients was 11.53 percent as of Wednesday for Trauma Service Area N, the hospital region that includes Washington County. That percentage is third-highest in the state behind Area R, the Beaumont region, and Area L, which consists of Killeen and Temple.
DSHS reported a total of 65 lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in the region as of Wednesday. Fifty hospital beds, 63 ventilators and no intensive care unit beds were available.
On Wednesday, Baylor Scott & White announced it would require all personnel to get vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 1st, unless they are granted an exemption.
