METH TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARRESTS IN WEIMAR, FAYETTEVILLE

A months-long investigation into methamphetamine trafficking led to arrests this (Thursday) morning in Colorado and Fayette counties.

At around 6 a.m., the Austin County-led Westside Narcotics Task Force executed a search and arrest warrant at a home on County Road 218 in Weimar.  Inside, investigators say they found numerous weapons including assault rifles and suspected silencers, as well as a small amount of marijuana.

The Austin County Special Response Team (SRT) arrested 29-year-old Amos Stancik for Conspiracy and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.  According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, the charges were the result of a federal grand jury indictment.  Stancik was transported by federal agents to the federal courthouse in Houston for arraignment.

Also today, investigators and members of the US Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force arrested 20-year-old Zachary Wisnoskie at his home on Stokes Road in Fayetteville for Conspiracy and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.  He was also taken to the federal courthouse in Houston.

The investigation was conducted jointly with the Westside Narcotics Task Force, the Colorado County District Attorney’s Office and the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office.

The Austin County SRT is comprised of members from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Austin County Constable Precinct 2, Sealy Police Department and the Washington County Tactical Medical EMS.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force is made up of investigators from the sheriff’s offices in Austin, Fayette and Waller counties; the Bellville, Sealy and Hempstead police departments; and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
