FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION WARNING OF HIGH FIRE DANGER

  

The Washington County Firefighter’s Association is warning the public of a high fire danger this weekend.

Weather for the next few days shows a continued hot, dry spell.

Temperatures will be near 100 degrees each day. Winds will be out of the south at 5-15 mph.

The drought monitors continue to show a deteriorating condition.

The US drought monitor released on Thursday shows the eastern half of Washington County now in a severe drought.

The Firefighters’ Association said that they are currently monitoring the situation and collecting data on a daily basis to determine if the implementation of a burn ban will be needed.

Currently, Washington County is not having issues with residents burning when they’re not suppose to or burning in an unsafe manner.

The local firefighters said that they believe that prevention efforts of making the public aware of the changing conditions will go much further with gaining compliance.
