BODY OF MISSING NAVASOTA MAN RECOVERED BY SURFSIDE BEACH POLICE

Police on Monday recovered the body of a 19-year-old man from Navasota who went missing over the weekend while swimming with friends near Freeport.
According to the Surfside Beach Police Department, the body of DeAngelo Jackson was located around 1:15 p.m.
Numerous agencies began searching for Jackson after he went missing Friday evening. The United States Coast Guard said it received information that a swimmer was swept out by a wave near Surfside Beach.
The search lasted for 25 hours and covered over 300 square miles.
Authorities suspended their search on Sunday, and their effort became a recovery operation.
Next of kin have been notified.
