WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO REVIEW 2022-23 SCHOOL LANDS REPORT

  

Washington County Commissioners will meet on Tuesday to review the 2022-23 school lands report and disburse funds to Brenham and Burton schools.

Every year, commissioners distribute revenue to Brenham and Burton ISDs from mineral rights, farming leases and hunting leases from Washington County school land in Tom Green County.

Last year, the county allocated $1,145,137 to Brenham ISD and $134,345 to Burton ISD.

Also on Tuesday, the court will consider authorizing seeking invitation for bids on an 80-ton water cooled chiller replacement using American Rescue Plan Act funds. 

Other items will include:

  • Approval of a proclamation designating October 16 – November 17 as the official period of the Washington County READ.
  • Approval of a proclamation recognizing October 17th as the 150th anniversary of Allwise Missionary Baptist Church in Washington County.
  • Consideration of an oil and gas development permit for Watt Energy, LLC on Nixon Lake Road in Precinct 3.
  • Discussion of a fiber installation by Industry Telephone Company in the right-of-way of South Hinze Road in Precinct 4.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
