FOOD FOR FAMILIES FOOD DRIVE TO BE HELD DEC. 6

  

Preparations are underway for the 28th Annual KBTX Food for Families Food Drive.

This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, December 6th from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at seven donation sites, including the Washington County Expo in Brenham.

Non-perishable food items and monetary contributions will be collected to support the Brazos Valley Food Bank. 

Donations will stay local to the county they are donated in; Washington County beneficiaries will be Bread Partners of Washington County, Burton Bridge Ministry, Faith Mission, Prairie Hill Food Pantry, and Washington Mobile Pantry at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. 

Suggested items include cereal, canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, rice, ravioli, pasta, soups, canned meats, spaghetti sauce and tomato products.

Other drop-off sites include the MidSouth Electric Co-op operations facility in Navasota, St. Mary’s Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Caldwell, the Brazos Center in Bryan, Pridgeon Community Center in Franklin, SonShine Center in Madisonville and Hearne Railroad Depot in Hearne.  All locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. except for the Brazos Center, which will take donations from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
