BLINN COLLEGE TO HOST AMERICAN RED CROSS CPR COURSE AT WALLER CAMPUS

The Blinn College District will offer an American Red Cross cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course Wednesday, April 17, at the Waller Campus.

Taking place from 5:40 to 8:10 p.m., the CPR course will be conducted in the computer lab (Room 333) at Waller ISD’s W.C. Schultz Junior High, located at 20950 Field Store Road in Waller. Blinn College-Waller is situated within a dedicated wing at the school, providing convenient access to education and training opportunities for the local community.

CPR certification is a valuable asset for individuals in various personal and professional settings. Whether responding to a medical emergency at home, in the workplace, or in the community, possessing CPR skills can mean the difference between life and death. With the ability to effectively administer chest compressions and rescue breaths, certified individuals can provide immediate assistance to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest or other life-threatening conditions, significantly increasing their chances of survival. Many employers across different industries require or prefer CPR certification as part of their training and safety protocols, making it a highly sought-after qualification for job seekers and employees alike.

Led by certified instructor Jackie Schrader, the $125 course is designed to equip participants with essential lifesaving skills in emergency situations. With a maximum class size of six students, individuals will benefit from personalized instruction and hands-on training. Students who complete the course will receive their CPR certification.

“We are excited to provide the community with access to such a critical skill,” said Cody Stelter, Assistant Dean of Applied Technology, Workforce, and Economic Development. “CPR is invaluable knowledge that can make a significant difference in saving lives, whether it’s for personal enrichment or professional development.”

Registration for the CPR course is now open. Interested individuals can secure their spot by calling 979-830-4808 or emailing monica.mazoch@blinn.edu.
