WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEET

Washington County Commissioners approved only half as much as the Visit Brenham, Washington County DMO requested for the Smithsonian’s Museum project that is coming to Brenham in the fall.  Commissioners said they would look at the amount again this summer in the budget meetings to see how the money is spent.  The Visit Brenham, Washington County DMO had originally requested $50,000 from the Hotel Occupancy Tax Reserves for the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Project.

The commissioners also tabled three Co-Op Unit Agreements that came before the court.  Commissioner Kirk Hannath said he needed more time to study the Agreement.

County Attorney Renee Mueller said before the meeting that Magnolia Oil and Gas planned to create co-op leases with some of their wells, and these three include mineral rights that the county owns within the areas of consolidation.

Commissioners also:

Approved of an agreement between the County and 3R Hunting Services, LLC of Paint Rock to serve as the wildlife manager for Washington County’s school land in Tom Green County.

Rejected an Agreement with Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating because the county does not have any wells with them.

Approved the placement of Hargrove Lane, located in the Hill Creek Ridge Subdivision into the one-year maintenance period and reducing the bond to 50%.

Approved an agreement with CitiBank for purchasing credit cards for the county.  The agreement provides more detail on the use of the credit card.

Heard monthly reports for the various agencies of the county.

The Washington County Commissioners proclaimed March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in Washington County.
