LADY PANTHERS CRUSH NORTH ZULCH 18-0
The Burton Lady Panther Softball Team picked up another win last (Tuesday) night, as they went on the road, and beat North Zulch in just three innings 18-0.
Reagan Roemer got it started in the first inning. Two batters later, Amaya Williams slugged a two-run homer to put Burton up 2-0.
In the second inning, Jennifer Lopez was hit by a pitch, and came around to score on a bunt single by Melanie Wood. Kelsi Hohlt and Abby Dowling had back-to-back walks to load the bases. Roemer hit a two-run single to score Wood and Hohlt. That put the Lady Panthers in front 5-0. Williams reached on an error by the third baseman that allowed both Dowling and Roemer to come around and increase Burton's lead to 7-0. Bailey Glaesmann singled in Williams to make it 8-0 Lady Panthers.
Burton put the game away for good with ten runs in the top of the third. Hohlt reached on a single, and then went to second on an error. Dowling followed with an RBI single, and then stole second. Roemer added to her hit total with an RBI double that scored Dowling to put the Lady Panthers ahead 10-0. Kalli Pohl followed with a two-run inside-the-park homer to give Burton a 12-0 lead. Williams and Glaesmann hit back-to-back doubles to make it 13-0.
Kara Landriault came in to courtesy run for Glaesmann. She wasn't on base long as Aerynn Huntsman brought her in with an RBI double. Hohlt walked. Dowling singled home Huntsman to make it 15-0. Roemer collected her fourth hit of the day with an RBI single that scored Hohlt. Haeleah Herrin came up as a pinch hitter, and smacked a two-run single to bring in Dowling and Roemer, and give Burton an 18-0 lead.
Glaesmann struck out the side in the bottom of the third to seal the win.
Next up: The Lady Panthers will be at Snook on Friday at 6pm.
