BURTON PANTHERS EARN 47-14 HOMECOMING WIN OVER MILANO

The Burton Panther Football Team celebrated Homecoming 2025 with a 47-14 victory over Milano on Friday night.

The Panthers opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 46-yard touchdown run by Kayden Patterson. The extra point try was no good, but Burton led 6-0.

Patterson would then find Braydon Martin on a 28-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion try failed, but the Panthers still lead 12-0 at that point.

Patterson added an 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. He also ran in the two-point conversion to increase the Burton lead to 20-0.

Patterson would round out the first quarter scoring with a 46-yard touchdown pass to Martin, his second of the game. Yobani Brewer ran in the two-point conversion to give the Panthers a 28-0 advantage.

Burton added a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. Maleek Bibby had a 13-yard touchdown run, while Zachary Purvis added a 67-yard run. After making one extra point try, and missing the other, the Panthers went into the locker room at half time with a 41-0 lead.

Milano scored the game's only touchdown in the third quarter to cut the lead to 41-7.

Burton scored one more touchdown in the fourth quarter when Brewer recovered a fumble while on defense and ran it back all the way. The Panthers missed the extra point, but it made their lead 47-7.

Milano added one more touchdown in the fourth on a 22-yard run. That ended the scoring as Burton went on to win 47-14.

With the win, the Panthers clinch a playoff spot. Their record is now 8-0 overall and 5-0 in district. Next week, they go on the road for a matchup against Iola. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
