BRENHAM AND BURTON SUBMIT TOTALS FOR SNAPSHOT DAY

Brenham ISD and Burton ISD joined with all the school districts across Texas in sending their enrollment numbers to the University Interscholastic League as part of “Snapshot Day.”

The UIL realigns the school districts for athletic events every two years, and the school’s enrollment on “Snapshot Day” is the number that they use to determine where the schools belong from Class 1A up through 6A.

The chosen date was this past Friday, October 31.

Brenham ISD submitted an enrollment of 1,521 students, which is a decrease of 32 students.  On the previous “Snapshot Day,” which was two years ago, Brenham’s enrollment was 1,553 students.

Burton ISD submitted an enrollment of 158 students, which is a ten-student increase over the 148 students that they submitted two years ago.

The conference cutoff numbers are scheduled to be released in early December.

Depending on how much the numbers change, Brenham is looking at staying in Class 5A.  For 5A, the current enrollment numbers are 1,315 to 2,274 students.

For Football, they would remain in Division II.  The Division II numbers are 1,315 to 1,902 students.

Meanwhile, for Burton, they would be looking at staying in Class 2A.  For 2A, the current enrollment numbers are 105-253 students.

For Football, they would remain in Division II.  The Division II numbers are 105-181.4 students.

The 2026-2027 UIL realignments are scheduled to be released February 2026.
