BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. CALLED OUT FOR TWO ACCIDENTS FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Friday.

Just past 7:45 a.m., units were dispatched to North Market Street and East Academy Street for a transportation incident.  They arrived and found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.  Both vehicles moved to the parking lot, and the department returned to service.

Close to 8:45 a.m., another transportation incident was called in from the 9200 block of Highway 290 East in Chappell Hill.  While Brenham firefighters were enroute, dispatch advised that the 18-wheeler involved was not leaking fuel.  After the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department made location, Brenham units cleared the scene.

A few minutes before 6 p.m., BFD members were called out for a report of a gas smell at a residence in the 1000 block of Malisa Hill.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and no readings were found on their detectors.  The City of Brenham Gas Department performed a shut-in test, and firefighters returned to the station.
