The Chappell Hill Scarecrow Music Festival, set for the second weekend of October, will offer the vendor shopping and family-friendly fun that visitors know and love while adding a packed lineup of music performers, all in support of local businesses, organizations and first responders.

Organized for decades by the Chappell Hill Historical Society, the festival is now led by local land management company BirdDog.  Scarecrow Music Festival Operations Director Josh Davis says it is an honor to be able to take a time-honored tradition and carry it forward in a new way.

The festival has numerous musical acts scheduled, with Roger Creager and Bri Bagwell set to serve as the headliners.  Creager will accompany a lineup on Saturday, October 10th that also includes Taylor Graves, Cul De Sac, Joey McGee, The Flinns, and Cody Hibbard.  Sunday, October 11th will host Bagwell, the Black Cat Choir, Cooper Mohrmann, and Cathey Bolin.

Along with the music, there will be shopping at over 100 artisan and food and drink vendors, with an emphasis on local commerce.  Additionally, Sunday will have a chili cook-off and auctions, and the festival plans to bring back the community scarecrow contest with cash prizes.

BirdDog CEO and co-founder Jonathan Lusk says there is a lot of buy-in from the community, meaning the sky is the limit for what organizers are planning for the festival, both for the current year and future iterations.

Proceeds from the festival will be split between the Chappell Hill Historical Society, Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department.

Tickets for the main stage entertainment are $50, with weekend passes offered for $75.  Early bird tickets are being sold for $40, as well as weekend VIP passes for $500, but limited quantities are available.  Entry onto Main Street for shopping is free.
