BRAZOS VALLEY FOOD BANK TO OFFER SEVEN DAYS OF FREE DRIVE-THRU FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS
After receiving funding from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), the Brazos Valley Food Bank has enough food to provide seven free drive-thru food giveaways this month throughout the region.
The food distributions will offer each vehicle one box of shelf-stable food; an allotment of fresh items like produce, milk, and protein; and a hot Chick-Fil-A box meal.
No ID or paperwork is required to receive food, but recipients will be asked simple questions including the number of people in their household, their ages, their race, and if they have ever visited a food pantry before.
Food distributions will be held Friday, May 15th at the Madison County Fairgrounds; Monday, May 18th at the Bryan Recreation and Athletic Complex; Wednesday, May 20th at the Burleson County Fairgrounds; Friday, May 22nd at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station; Wednesday, May 27th at the Washington County Fairgrounds; Friday, May 29th at the Robertson County Fairgrounds; and Saturday, May 30th at the Grimes County Fairgrounds.
Food distributions will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until supplies last. Those who attend cannot pick up food for others who are unable to attend.
Anyone planning to attend who has questions can call the Brazos Valley Food Bank’s Food Assistance Hotline at 936-978-0823 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
