46-year-old Christopher Eugene Luttrell of Caldwell was killed last Thursday after his vehicle had a tire blowout on Highway 21 and FM 50 and collided with a FedEx truck.

Luttrell served nearly 20 years in law enforcement.  Prior to joining Blinn College in 2014, he served in the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell Police Department, and University of Houston Campus Police Department.

In 2018, Luttrell was named the Professional of the Year by the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) of the Brazos Valley for developing a sexual assault prevention program for all student activities across the Blinn College District.

Visitation will be held Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.  A memorial service celebrating Luttrell’s life will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Caldwell Civic Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to SARC by mail to PO Box 3082, Bryan, TX 77805, or online at www.SARCBV.org.
