JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINE COMING TO REGIONAL PROVIDERS
Thousands of doses of the new Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are being distributed to area vaccine providers.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is the third vaccine to be made available in the United States, the others being the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The former is designed to be given as a single dose, while the latter two are administered twice over the span of several weeks.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), no Johnson & Johnson vaccines were distributed to providers in Washington County this week; however, vaccines were sent to providers in Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes and Waller counties.
In Austin County, the Bellville Medical Center is receiving 100 doses of the new vaccine, while Medical Clinics of Sealy and Sealy Urgent Care Center are each getting 300 doses.
Several Brazos County providers are slated to get the new vaccine, including: 2,000 doses for Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station; 500 for the Texas A&M Health Family Care Clinic in Bryan; 300 for the Brazos County Health District and CHI St. Joseph’s locations in Bryan on Boonville Road and East 29th Street; 200 for the CHI St. Joseph location in Bryan on University Drive and the Physicians Centre Hospital in Bryan; and 100 doses for Brazos County Health and Wellness, St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan on Franciscan Drive, the Texas A&M University Student Health Center in College Station, Baylor Scott and White Pediatric Clinic in College Station on University Drive, and the College Station locations of CHI St. Joseph on Victoria Avenue and Barron Road.
Burleson County will receive 200 total doses of the vaccine, 100 each going to St. Joseph Health Center and JLyle Medical Clinic in Caldwell.
In Colorado County, 200 doses are going to Rice Medical Associates in Eagle Lake, while 100 will be given to Columbus Community Hospital, Columbus Pharmacy and Four Oaks Medical Clinic in Columbus.
Fayette County is receiving 100 doses, all going to Flatonia Pharmacy.
Grimes County providers are getting 200 vaccine doses, 100 to the St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota and 100 to the BIS Community Clinic in Bedias.
In Waller County, 200 doses of the vaccine were allocated to Healthpoint Hempstead and the Brookshire Brothers pharmacies in Hempstead and Brookshire.
