HANAK: AMBER ALERT AND BURTON SHOOTING ‘SAME CASE EXACTLY’; CRIME STOPPERS OFFERING $5,000 REWARD

Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak says there is a direct connection between an Amber Alert for a missing child last seen Sunday morning and a shooting hours later at a Burton convenience store.
4-year-old Wyatt Crowley was last seen at 8 a.m. at the Burton Short Stop on FM 390, the same place where a shooting occurred at 4 p.m. One person was shot and was flown to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan in unknown condition.

When asked if there was any connection between the shooting and the missing child case, Hanak said they are the “same case exactly.”
The child is believed to be with 36-year-old Joshua Crowley, who is said to be driving a black, 2011 Mazda MZ3 sedan with Texas license plate 737763C. Authorities believe the child to be in grave or immediate danger.
The exact details of the case have not been released, but more information is expected soon.
