‘WELCOME TO WASHINGTON COUNTY’; SUSPECTS IN PURSUIT, SEARCH WERE TIED UP BY RANCHER AND HELD AT GUNPOINT BEFORE LAW ENFORCEMENT ARRIVED
A search for two suspects last month in Washington County came to an end in part because of the efforts of a local rancher.
During her monthly report to Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday, E-911 Director Robyn Hood shared details about the call that came in for two men who fled an out-of-county traffic stop and led authorities on a high-speed chase reaching 150 mph. The two, who were said to be armed, abandoned their vehicle near Independence, leading to a search involving multiple agencies.
Hood said law enforcement was working on securing the area when dispatchers got a call from a property owner who decided to take matters into his own hands by tying the men up and placing them at gunpoint until authorities arrived. She said the situation ended without any injuries and with the rancher saying to the two suspects, “Welcome to Washington County.”
The men, 21-year-old Keshun Jamal Semere and 20-year-old Joshua Lorenzo Williams, both of Houston, remain in custody at the Washington County Jail. Semere is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle and Evading Arrest or Detention. Williams faces charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Theft of a Firearm and Evading Arrest or Detention.
We need to assist law enforcement and protect ourselves against lawlessness. We must be our brothers keeper. Protect your family, friends and neighbors. Arm yourselves, because all the criminal element has done so.
You forgot to mention that they were on horseback when they roped them, then tied them up.
Way to go Rancher !!
Way to go Washington County rancher whoever you may be. We need more folks like you!!
This is a good message to send to the criminal element.
