BLINN’S BRUMNETT RANKS AS TOP INDIVIDUAL AT NATIONAL BARROW SHOW

  

Maggie Brumnett of Blinn College was the top-ranked individual at the National Barrow Show in Austin, Minn.

Brumnett, a sophomore on Blinn’s livestock judging team, totaled 615 points to place first overall at Sunday’s competition. She was first in questions, third in placings, and 18th in reasons.

As a team, Blinn placed fifth overall with 2,932 points and was fourth overall in reasons. Owen Seidenberger was 12th high individual with 596 points, placing ninth in reasons

Blinn will compete Saturday in the Tri-State Fair judging contest in Amarillo, Texas.

The livestock judging team is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.

Blinn offers agriculture classes on all its campuses. The program’s headquarters is the W.J. “Bill” Rankin Agricultural Complex on the Brenham Campus.
