BURTON HIGH SCHOOL TO CELEBRATE HOMECOMING AT NEW STADIUM
For the first time in three years, Burton High School will host a homecoming football game tonight (Friday).
The Burton Panthers’ game against the Iola Bulldogs will kick off at 7 p.m. at the new Panther Stadium.
Running for Homecoming Queen are Bailey Glaesmann, Kara Kaye, Raegon Smith and Taiden Thiel.
Homecoming King candidates are James Alvarado, Greyson Mathis, Drayton Oakes and Trent Unger.
The homecoming court also includes Junior Duchess Melanie Wood, Sophomore Duchess Skyler Unger and Freshman Duchess Hadley Schulze.
Gates are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m., and Senior Night ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. The homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime. A special invitation is extended to the Burton High School Classes of 2023 and 2024.
Tickets will be available at the gate, but the district encourages purchasing them in advance at the Burton ISD Central Administration Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, cash only.
Only vehicles with a handicap placard and event staff will be allowed to park within the stadium gate. Fans are asked to not park by the school or along the sides of streets.
All home and visiting fans must park in the fields behind the Burton Cotton Gin at 307 North Main Street. Fans will have the option to ride a bus to and from the parking lot. ATVs will be available for those that are handicapped, and those not able to load on a bus. Fans can also walk if they choose to do so. Concessions and restrooms will be available.
