BLACK GOLD 47’S RALLY TO DEFEAT BURTON PANTHERS AT WEIMAR TOURNAMENT
The Burton Panther Baseball Team got a rare opportunity this (Friday) morning to play the Black Gold 47's from Canada at the Weimar Tournament.
Tyler Witt led off the game with a single, and stole second. He later scored when Reuben Rodriguez reached on an error to make it 1-0 Panthers.
The Black Gold 47's came back with three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead.
It would stay that way until the top of the fourth inning when came back with five runs. Braydon Martin reached on an error, and Coy Gurka was hit by a pitch. Isaac Matthies reached on an error to cut the lead to 3-2. Brady Griffin followed with a two-run single to score Gurka and Matthies to put Burton in front 4-3. Eli Simank walked, and then he and Griffin scored on a two-run single by Ryder Biggs to give the Panthers a 6-3 lead.
The Black Gold 47's weren't done yet as they came up with a two run-single, and a three-run walk-off home in the bottom of the 5th to win it after the time limit had expired.
