BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE TO PERFORM ‘HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION’ STARTING THURSDAY
Brenham High School Theatre’s final production of the school year will take audiences to the underworld.
“Hadestown: Teen Edition” will play in the Black Box Theatre at Brenham High School starting tomorrow (Thursday) night and continuing through Sunday.
Based on Greek mythology, the musical tells the story of Orpheus and his love for Eurydice, who becomes desperate for food and warmth as the winter approaches and ultimately joins Hades in Hadestown, his underground factory. However, she soon regrets her decision, and Orpheus vows to rescue her.
Noble Pharaon and Gillian Kocian, who play Hades and Eurydice, say the Black Box environment provides a more immersive and personal space that serves as the perfect fit for this type of powerful and emotionally-driven performance.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. tomorrow and Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://cubcompany.booktix.com. Seating in the Black Box Theatre is limited.
